History of Massage
Over 4,000 years ago, Hippocrates considered massage an important therapeutic practice. The earliest record of massage appears in The Emporer's Classical Internal Medicine, attributed to Huang Ti, the Yellow Emporer who died in 2598 BC.

Massage has continued throughout the ages, supporting a holistic approach to health. It is the work of Per Henrik Ling (1776-1839) that has most influenced today's massage techniques with his form of massage known as Swedish Massage.
Benefits of Massage
During a massage, the therapist works to relax the soft tissue, increasing the delivery of blood and oxygen to the massaged areas, while also warming the area and helping the body relax.

Massage may help with:
-
relaxing body and mind
-
reducing muscle tension
-
improving skin tone
-
improving circulation
-
improving digestion
-
lowering blood pressure
-
improving sleep
-
reducing fatigue
-
scar tissue and adhesions

Best results are achieved by ensuring you are well hydrated, refraining from exercise for 24 hours after the massage, and following the aftercare provided.
